Diorama of the Geologic Period

Materials:

  • Reference books and/or internet access
  • Shoebox
  • Crayons, markers, or coloring pencils
  • Various construction materials

Procedure:

  1. Briefly research each geologic time period to help you decide which period you would like to learn more about.
  2. Once you have decided on a geologic time period, use reference books and/or the internet to learn about the climate, the way the continents were arranged, the landforms, and the living things that were on Earth at the time.
  3. Using the research that you gathered, construct a diorama using a shoebox to create a scene from that period. Include models and/or pictures to represent the climate, landforms, living things, and any other correlating representations.
