Education.com awards its first $10,000 Empowered Future Teacher Scholarship to aspiring educator Cassandra Krill
SAN MATEO, Calif. – August 31, 2018
Education.com, the leading online education destination for teachers, parents, and homeschoolers looking to help their children succeed in school, today announced the first recipient of its biannual Empowered Future Teachers Scholarship.
The $10,000 scholarship has been awarded to Cassandra Krill, an aspiring elementary school teacher in her sophomore year at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, to use toward her education. She’ll also receive an Education.com Lifetime Membership for herself, plus one to share with a fellow educator.
“Being the recipient of Education.com's Empowered Teachers Scholarship means that I can focus on my education and become a qualified, invested teacher for my future students,” Cassandra says. “It means I can access the resources to create a unique and interesting curriculum and connect with the exceptional, passionate teachers and advisors who work with Education.com. This scholarship will afford me the ability to put everything I have into my classroom and my students.”
Cassandra is the first recipient of Education.com's Empowered Teachers Scholarship, which will subsequently be awarded twice per year, with applications due January 1 and June 30. Applicants must be pursuing a teaching career and enrolled at an accredited college or university. Winners are selected based on their academic achievements and commitment to working in education.
