Education.com Surpasses 5 Million Members as Teachers and Parents Support Learning Beyond the Classroom

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 16, 2014 -- Education.com, the nation's leading destination for teachers and parents, today announced that it has surpassed five million registered users, reflecting a national appetite for online learning tools. The company, whose site is accessed by one in four US teachers, added over two million members alone in 2014, highlighting the growing trend in childhood education where parents are more involved than ever, and teachers are turning to outside resources to aid and enhance classroom learning.

"We are thrilled that more than five million parents, teachers and homeschoolers are using Education.com's products to support their children's learning," said Rich Yang, Co-CEO of Education.com. "The rapid growth of Education.com points to a larger trend in education where new technologies create new ways for children to learn. As educators of all kinds turn to the internet to enhance learning at home, at school and throughout communities, we are proud to provide fun, engaging content for children from Pre-K through high school."

The site, accessed by more than ten million unique visitors in October, provides free and paid educational resources, including over 4,000 math, language arts, science, and seasonal activities and thousands of informative, entertaining articles from educational leaders and experts. Twenty million worksheets per year are downloaded from Education.com at a time where parents are facing increasing expectations to be involved in their child's education, and teachers are increasingly seeking resources outside of the classroom.

Using feedback from educational experts and valuable site data, the company also recently launched Brainzy, a systematic learning program for children ages 3-7 which provides over 300 educational games that cover the most essential skills aligned with the Common Core Curriculum State Standards for early reading and math.
