How Many Letters?

Students will be able to identify how many letters are in their names.
Introduction
(5 minutes)
- Write your name on the whiteboard or chart paper.
- Ask the students if they know how many letters are in your name.
Beginning
- Review counting 1–20 using songs, stories, or games.
- Allow students to count in their home language (L1).
Intermediate
- Have students turn and talk to a partner to answer the question, "How can I count the letters in my name?"
